A truck driver was injured in an accident on the A2 highway in Tenniken BL on Thursday morning. The accident resulted in major traffic obstructions, as reported by the Basel police.

The 64-year-old truck driver lost control of his vehicle shortly before 7 a.m. in a roadworks area near the Mühlmatt service area for reasons that are not yet fully understood. As a result, the truck collided with various signaling elements, the crash barrier and the windbreak fence.

The accident victim had to be taken to hospital injured. One lane had to be closed during the recovery work.
