Two people have been shot dead in a restaurant near Frankfurt Airport in Germany.
This morning, a manhunt was underway with a helicopter and a large police force for the still unknown shooter. Many details are still unknown.
According to initial findings, an armed person is said to have entered the bistro at around 3.45 am and shot at the two people. Both died of their injuries at the scene, the police said. According to the police, the restaurant was open until 5.00 am.
Investigators in white protective suits and masks secured evidence and took photos of the crime scene. The restaurant on the first floor of the two-storey building in Raunheim, a town with a population of around 17,000, was cordoned off with red fluttering ribbons.
According to the police, the shooter fled and a manhunt is underway. According to a police spokesman, the background and motives for the crime are still completely unclear.
Nothing was initially known about the victims either. Their bodies were still lying in the restaurant in the morning.
