The attack resulted in information about UBS and several other companies being stolen, as the big bank's media office wrote on Wednesday in response to a request from the news agency AWP. The online portal Inside IT reported on the cyber attack for the first time on Monday.
The French-speaking Swiss newspaper "Le Temps" wrote on Wednesday that 130,000 pieces of data had been stolen from UBS. This would also include the direct telephone number of bank director Sergio Ermotti.
UBS acted "quickly and decisively" when it became aware of the incident, the bank continued. Client data was not affected.
Pictet also stated on request that no client data was affected. The stolen data was mainly invoice data from certain providers from recent years.
