In the town of Anaconda in the US state of Montana, several people are dead after shots were fired, according to US media.

The US federal authority ATF, which is responsible for firearms and explosives among other things, wrote on X of several victims in a bar. Anaconda has a population of around 9,000 and is located at an altitude of around 1,600 meters in the Rocky Mountains.
According to media such as CNN, ABC News and "USA Today", four people died in the incident on Friday morning (local time). Several people were also injured, according to local authorities. The police called on the population to avoid the area.
The authorities suspected a 45-year-old man and a manhunt is underway for him. The man is said to be armed and dangerous.
Special task forces - known as SWAT teams - have been sent to the suspect's home, CBS News reported, citing the local sheriff's office.
