Weather chaos in the USA: heat on the west coast, flooding in Hawaii, snow masses in the north and storm warnings for the east coast have led to weather warnings for more than 200 million people. According to the online portal "FlightAware", more than 4,500 flights were canceled.

Warnings of strong winds and possibly even tornadoes were issued for the east coast, according to the National Weather Service. Numerous schools and other facilities therefore closed earlier than planned.

Meanwhile, several northern states such as Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota were hit by a snowstorm. Heavy rainfall had previously led to flooding in Hawaii. The US west coast is experiencing an unusual heatwave with temperatures of more than 30 degrees Celsius.
