The special situation will apply from 9 a.m. on Thursday, the State Council added. The operation is still ongoing.

The authorities called on the population to strictly adhere to the instructions of the emergency services and not to enter the affected area.

The State Council expressed its "great solidarity" with those affected and sent its thoughts to the victims, their families and all others affected.
