Visitors to the Autumn Fair can look forward to various new rides. New features include the 80-metre-high "Jules Verne Tower" ride on the Messeplatz, as announced by the Basel Department of Presidential Affairs on Wednesday. At a speed of 65 km/h, the carousel lets visitors fly over the Messeplatz. The "Dance Jumper" ride can now also be found there.

On Barfüsserplatz, the 40-metre-high "Sky Swing" tower ride will be doing its rounds for the first time. And on the barracks area, the 80-metre-high freefall tower "Fortress Tower" and the rotating platform "Mythøs" will provide new thrills.

A special eye-catcher this year will be the "Vienna Prater Ghost Train", built in the 1930s - probably the oldest mobile ghost train in the world.

Indoor exhibition closes one week shorter

According to the press release, the Autumn Fair streetcar line 12 is now available in Basel, taking visitors from the SBB railroad station to the various Autumn Fair sites.

The Autumn Fair will be opened on October 25 at 12.00 noon in the tower of St. Martin's Church and will run until November 9 - on St. Peter's Square with its trade stands until November 11. The indoor fair will only take place until November 2 due to the upcoming Igeho trade fair.

Around one million visitors from all over Switzerland and neighboring countries are expected in Basel.
