The verdict is due to be announced on the morning of June 15, according to Norwegian media reports citing the district court in Oslo. The Norwegian is facing a long prison sentence.

The week-long rape trial against the 29-year-old ended in March. Høiby is charged with 40 counts - 20 of which alone relate to an ex-girlfriend with whom he has a no-contact order. The Norwegian is accused of four rapes, among other things. Mette-Marit's son is said to have filmed the alleged victims during the acts.

At the end of the trial, the prosecutors had demanded seven years and seven months in prison. Høiby's defense lawyers, on the other hand, had pleaded for a prison sentence of one and a half years. The lawyers argued that he should be acquitted of the rape charges.
