Three women died at the weekend as a result of the storm in Val Bavona. According to information from the cantonal police, they were victims of a landslide.

The three women who fell victim to the storm in the upper Maggia Valley last weekend have been identified. According to information from the Ticino cantonal police, they are two 73-year-old and one 76-year-old German woman from the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The women were victims of a landslide in the Fontana area of the Bavona Valley, the police added on Tuesday. Their bodies were found on Sunday morning.
Val Bavona is a side valley of the Maggia Valley and was hit particularly hard by the storm last Saturday.
