The five MEPs from the Volt party will in future be part of the Green Group in the EU Parliament. After two weeks of negotiations and a vote among Volt members in Europe, the decision to join was made, the party announced on Monday. Volt was already part of the group in the last legislative period with its sole MEP Damian Boeselager.

He is pleased that the members followed the recommendation to join the Greens, "as the group supported our mission to work on EU reform, humane migration rules, a competitive economy, the transition to climate neutrality and social justice", said Boeselager. The pro-European Volt party won five seats in the EU Parliament in the elections at the beginning of June, three of which are held by MEPs from Germany.
