The emergency call center received an unclear report of injured persons shortly before 6 a.m., the Aargau cantonal police said in response to media reports. Police and rescue services found three injured adults and an injured toddler at the private address in Suhr near Aarau
A rescue helicopter flew the child to hospital, according to the report. Ambulances took the adults to hospital. According to the police, the toddler and two adults suffered serious injuries. The third person suffered moderate injuries.
According to initial findings, the 37-year-old woman, presumably in a state of mental distress, attacked one of her children and family members with a knife. She is also believed to have injured herself afterwards, according to reports.
The exact circumstances of the crime are still unclear. The cantonal police launched an investigation and the Lenzburg-Aarau public prosecutor's office opened a criminal investigation. The alleged perpetrator is also in hospital.
