Mountain accident Woman killed in an accident on the Brienzer Rothorn in the Bernese Oberland
A woman who went missing after a hike on the Brienzer Rothorn in the Bernese Oberland was found dead on Tuesday. The police believe it was an accident.

On Tuesday morning, the police received a report that a woman was missing who had presumably been on a mountain hike in the Brienzer Rothorn area. During a search flight, the woman was spotted in the Gwandwald region at around midday. She could only be recovered dead, as the regional public prosecutor's office and the Bernese cantonal police announced on Wednesday.
According to their findings, the woman had set off on a mountain hike from Rothorn in the direction of Brienz on Monday. For reasons as yet unexplained, the woman fell on the descent. She sustained fatal injuries as a result. The police have information on the identity of the woman, but formal identification is still pending.
The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
