A 21-year-old Swiss man had a fatal accident on Monday afternoon while carrying out forestry work in Saanenmöser BE. The man was hit by a tree trunk and succumbed to his serious injuries on site.

The accident at work was reported to the Bern cantonal police at around 1.40 pm. According to initial findings by the police, three men were working in the forest.
Despite the immediate first aid provided by third parties present and the rescue measures immediately initiated by a Rega and ambulance team, the man from the canton of Bern died on site, as the police wrote in a press release on Tuesday.
The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident under the direction of the Oberland regional public prosecutor's office.
