Trial Zurich District Court convicts Uber driver of sexual offenses

The District Court of Zurich has found a 44-year-old Uber driver guilty of sexual assault and other offenses. He is to spend four years in prison.

In addition to the prison sentence, a seven-year ban from the country will be imposed, as the judge said at the sentencing hearing on Friday. The public prosecutor's office accused the man of sexually abusing three women in his car as an Uber and Bolt driver.

The public prosecutor's office requested a prison sentence of nine and a half years. The verdict is not yet final. It can be appealed to the higher court.
