The Zurich High Court sentenced a group of young men on Wednesday for having sex with a 12-year-old girl. The 23-year-old main defendant received a prison sentence of 7 years and one month.

His four "bros", i.e. colleagues to whom the main accused "provided" the girl for sex, were punished with conditional prison sentences and fines. Two of them were also banned from working with minors for life.

The young men had affirmed at the high court trial in December that the girl had participated voluntarily. The lower court, the Winterthur Juvenile Court, had described the sexual acts as actual gang rapes.

However, it sentenced the main defendant even more severely in 2022. At the time, he received a prison sentence of 8 years and 9 months.
