The lawyer of an alleged pimp was dismissed by the Zurich district court on Monday. He had requested that the proceedings against the 33-year-old Hungarian woman be dropped and that she be set free.

The Hungarian woman has been in custody for three and a half years. She is accused of forcing several Hungarian women from precarious backgrounds into prostitution in Zurich.

At the start of the trial, her defense lawyer complained that he had not been given access to all the important files. For example, chat histories and video recordings from the surveillance of his client were missing. Some of the evidence was also not usable.

The public prosecutor replied that all relevant material was indeed in the files. The defendant could have drawn attention to the missing chat histories. The court therefore decided that the trial would not be discontinued. It will now continue in the afternoon with the questioning of the woman.
