Insurance Zurich nominates Thomas Jordan for the Board of Directors
The Zurich Group is getting a prominent addition to its Board of Directors: Former Swiss National Bank Chairman Thomas Jordan is to be elected to the insurer's Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting on April 9.

The appointment is a coup for Zurich. The appointment of Thomas Jordan follows an "outstanding career" at the Swiss National Bank (SNB), according to the Group's annual results announcement on Thursday. Since leaving the SNB in fall 2024, Jordan has not yet taken up any significant office.
Jordan has "extensive international experience in the areas of financial markets and monetary policy", Zurich wrote. The economist shaped monetary policy in Switzerland as Chairman of the SNB Governing Board from 2012 to 2024 and previously as a member of this body from 2007. Jordan has worked for the SNB throughout his career, initially as a scientific advisor from 1997.
