The eight-time goalscorer beat the two top scorers Raphinha from FC Barcelona and Serhou Guirassy from Borussia Dortmund (13 each), among others.

UEFA named Dembélé's team-mate Désiré Doué as the best young player of the season. The 19-year-old excelled in the final in Munich with two goals.

No fewer than seven Parisians made the team of the year: in addition to Dembélé and Doué, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was preferred to Yann Sommer, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes in defense and Vitinha in midfield. Raphinha and Lamine Yamal from FC Barcelona, Declan Rice from Arsenal and Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan complete the All-Star team.
