Sho Miyake, film director from Japan, has won the Golden Leopard for his film "Tabi to Hibi" ("Two Seasons, Two Strangers").

The Japanese drama "Tabi to Hibi" ("Two Seasons, Two Strangers") by director Sho Miyake has won the main prize at the Locarno Film Festival. This was announced by the festival management on Saturday. The award is endowed with 75,000 francs.
The film is based on two manga stories and consists of two independent storylines: one takes us into winter, the other into summer. In both, two characters meet - while one encounter is taciturn, the other leads to a reflection on life.
The prize for best director was also awarded in the International Competition. This went to the Iraqi-French director Abbas Fahdel for "Tales of the Wounded Land" about everyday life in southern Lebanon during and after the war.
The prizes for best acting went to Manuela Martelli and Ana Marija Veselčić in the film "God Will Not Help" and Marya Imbro and Mikhail Senkov for "White Snail". The latter film will also receive the special prize of 30,000 Swiss francs.
