Autofictional writing about one's own childhood and family, the literary treatment of death and grief as well as the complexity of evil - these are recurring themes in the books that will be discussed at the upcoming Solothurn Literature Days.
As a special highlight of the 48th Solothurn Literature Festival, the organizers promised the book premiere of Lukas Bärfuss' latest work "Queen of the Night" in a press release on Tuesday. It will be published immediately before the literature festival, and Bärfuss will present it to the public for the first time in Solothurn.
In addition, the organizers want to once again make the multilingualism of Swiss literature the focus of their program. With her presence, Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider will set a political accent, according to which literature is "an indispensable place" for "democratic dialog" in multilingual Switzerland in particular, as stated in the press release.
The 48th Solothurn Literature Festival will be held from May 15 to 17 with 150 events and 140 guests.
