Reunited at last: Liam and Noel Gallagher on stage.

"Absolutely great": The Gallagher brothers are back on stage together for the first time in 16 years - without any bickering or bad blood. About an evening that sent a city into euphoria.
Is it possible to make up for years of radio silence with just one concert? According to the fans of Britpop band Oasis, it certainly is. More than 73,000 fans from all over the world cheered loudly for the world-famous band featuring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher as they took to the stage hand in hand in Cardiff, Wales, on Friday - for the first time in 16 years. Not a trace of disappointment or resentment.
"Tears run down your eyes as you watch it and sing along to every line," said a fan who had traveled all the way from Düsseldorf after the concert, still with a tear or two in his eye. "It was unbelievable, absolutely great," a fan from the UK also raved about the performance.
The world-famous brother and sister began their long-awaited performance with the song "Hello", and the cheers of the tens of thousands of fans could also be heard loudly outside the stadium. Afterwards, the brothers left nothing to be desired and performed numerous of their songs, including "Morning Glory" and "Supersonic", in just over two hours. Hits such as "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Wonderwall" were not missing either.
The brothers did not miss a joke or two - for example about the sometimes high ticket prices - as the British media reported. But softer tones were also struck: "Thank you for putting up with us," said Liam, for example, according to the Guardian. "I know we're exhausting."
But what is it that Britain's once most popular musical export still inspires the masses today? Oasis brings back the "lifestyle of the 90s" and their own youth, explained Daniel, a fan who had traveled from Kiel, about the phenomenon.
On this evening in Cardiff, however, it was not only fans from the very beginning who were there, but also numerous young people who were able to experience Oasis live for the first time. "That was fucking great. It was the best day of my fucking life," enthused one young person from the UK after the concert.
There was not a sad or disappointed face to be found in Cardiff. On Friday afternoon there was an exuberant party atmosphere: Oasis songs were sung by fans on the streets and there were long queues outside the pubs. Even during the concert, numerous people gathered outside the stadium to experience the reunion at least a little.
And the party continues today: the second concert of the "Oasis Live '25" tour will also take place at Cardiff Stadium. After that, the band wants to create euphoria worldwide. In the coming months, Oasis are planning several appearances in their home country of Great Britain as well as in Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia and Argentina. There will even be a concert film.
The two brothers' performance also made positive headlines in the British press. "A shameless trip back to the 90s to the loudest and best songs of Britpop", wrote the Guardian, for example. "Oasis blew away the cobwebs and cleared away all the doubters at the start of their reunion tour in Cardiff," said the BBC.
Oasis became famous more than 30 years ago with the album "Definitely Maybe". Their second album "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" from 1995 at the latest, with hits such as "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger", made them world-famous. After a long dispute between brothers Liam and Noel, the band broke up. They then announced their comeback in August 2024: "The long wait is over", the brothers announced.
