Patron Ellen Ringier has died at the age of 73. The Ringier publishing house announced that the founder of the Elternsein Foundation died on Wednesday in Zurich after a serious illness.

In a statement on Wednesday, the publishing house said that the lawyer left behind a legacy that will last far beyond her lifetime. Ringier was also the publisher of the magazine "Fritz+Fränzi".

Born in Lucerne, she was also a committed citizen and a strong force in culture, the statement continued. Among other things, she was a member of the board of directors of the Zurich Schauspielhaus.
