Sinead O'Connor was still in a good mood days before her death, as confirmed by a neighbor who spoke to her. This was reported by the Daily Mail. In addition, she had only lived in the London apartment for a few weeks.
Sinead O'Connor appeared "happy and laughing" a few days before her death. The Daily Mail reports, quoting the singer's neighbor.
"I saw her about two weeks ago. She seemed happy and was laughing, waving to us. She was out with a friend and said she was going to Brixton. She told me she was a famous singer and had moved in about six weeks ago. She lived there on her own," says the neighbor.
When she saw the ambulance outside the 56-year-old's house at around five o'clock in the afternoon, she only made the connection when she read in the news that Sinead O'Connor had died: "It's so sad, I'm sorry," the neighbor added.
The Irish Grammy winner became world-famous thanks to her Prince cover "Nothing Compares 2 U" and reached number 1 in the charts worldwide. Despite her success, she actually wanted to be a protest singer rather than a pop star. In the years that followed, she attracted attention for her social and political commentary.
Her last tweets were also about her son, whom she lost in spring 2022, and she said she lived as a "creature of the night" for a long time.
