His diversity, depth and critical thoughts make Jochimsen an important political cabaret artist in the German-speaking world, the organizers of the Kabarett-Tage announced on Wednesday. The prize is endowed with 10,000 francs.

According to the citation, Jochimsen's performances and texts are packed with world views and political satire. These are characterized by a clear, critical, but also optimistic attitude.

Jochimsen is a critical observer of the world with an eye for detail, who has no inhibitions about going into depth in his thoughts and holding up a mirror to politics and society.

Critical questions and clever thoughts

He is a cabaret artist who clearly distinguishes himself from comedy and does not play for laughs, as well as a philosophical thinker with attitude, critical questions and clever thoughts. He does not tell the audience anything new, but puts his finger on the wounds with his questions.

Jochimsen was born in Munich in 1970 and studied German language and literature, political science and philosophy. He now lives as an author and cabaret artist in Freiburg. He has been performing on cabaret stages since 1992.

The 39th Olten Cabaret Days, the oldest and most important satire festival in Switzerland, takes place from April 29 to May 9. According to the organizers, the festival attracts up to 8,000 visitors each year.
