From May 17, the spectacular IMAX auditorium will open at the blue Cinema Abaton - with state-of-the-art projection technology, powerful digital sound and immersive design for a top-class movie experience.

From mid-May, movie fans will be able to enjoy unique quality in a prime location at the newly renovated Abaton. In addition, a luxurious First Lounge and a café-bar await all guests.
From 17 May, an exciting era begins at the blue Cinema Abaton in Zurich: the highlight of the modernized cinema is the impressive new IMAX auditorium. With razor-sharp images thanks to the most innovative projection technology, powerful digital sound and a specially designed cinema interior, goosebump moments will be created. IMAX aims to captivate the senses and give visitors an intense experience - as if they were in the middle of a movie.
Film fans will also find a new First Lounge with many amenities at the Abaton. Guests can experience the films in comfortable reclining chairs and enjoy snacks and drinks à discrétion. The specially reserved First Foyer offers an exclusive setting for an exclusive movie experience. A movie experience that blue Cinema has already introduced in other cities with a very positive response.
A stylish café-bar has also been opened in recent weeks. This is also open to guests who are not attending a movie but want to linger in Zurich West. It offers a selection of delicacies throughout the day: From hearty breakfasts and freshly prepared pinsas at lunchtime to special movie drinks in the evening - there's something for everyone here. The self-service store, which has also been opened in advance, rounds off the offer.

On the weekend of May 24 and 25, blue Cinema invites all entertainment fans to a grand opening party. As a special thank you, there will be 2-for-1 movie tickets for all guests at blue Cinema Abaton on these two days. Other attractions include IMAX demo shows, trailer shows in the First Lounge, face painting and other activities. The first preview screenings of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - THE FINAL RECKONING will be shown in IMAX from tomorrow (Saturday, May 17) before the official release date. The film will then be shown daily in the program from 21 May.
