Black Sea Dahu

Top-class Swiss indie folk in the livestream today

Singer Janine Cathrein will be on stage with her siblings tonight at the Zermatt Unplugged Festival.

Zermatt Unplugged

The Swiss indie folk band Black Sea Dahu, featuring singer Janine Cathrein and her siblings Vera and Simon, will be performing at Zermatt Unplugged today. blue News will be broadcasting the concert live at 9pm.

The group has been active under the name Josh since 2012 and released an album. The debut album White Creatures was released that year under the new band name on the Mouthwatering Records label. This was followed by several tours at home and abroad as well as festival appearances.

In 2018, the band appeared in the spotlight at Zermatt Unplugged under a new name, Black Sea Dahu. In 2019, they were also honored with the "Artist Award" at the Swiss Music Awards. Since then, the band has been firmly rooted in the music business, touring throughout Europe and making a name for itself internationally.

That is magic. Is it the Dahu, a mythical creature with two shorter and two longer legs so that it can stand better on a slope? Is it the songs from the album White Creatures, which are streamed excessively worldwide? Is it the unmistakable alto voice of Janine Cathrein? Of course it's all of the above: Black Sea Dahu is unfathomable, mysterious and beautiful. Her new album "I am My Mother" was released in February.

On Thursday, April 7, at 9 pm, Black Sea Dahu will be playing on stage at the Zermatt Unplugged Festival. blue News will be showing the concert in a live stream, here is a foretaste.
