Ramon Zenhäusern no longer in a Swiss-Ski squad

The Swiss-Ski alpine national teams will be significantly smaller for the coming season. Only nine men and six women will now have the highest squad status.

On the men's side, the national team has been reduced by a third. Niels Hintermann and Marc Rochat announced their retirement. With Arnaud Boisset (in the B squad), Justin Murisier and Daniel Yule (both in the A squad), a trio was downgraded due to their results.

On the other hand, no skier made the leap to the "previous" squad of Luca Aerni, Gino Caviezel, Loïc Meillard, Alexis Monney, Tanguy Nef, Marco Odermatt, Stefan Rogentin, Thomas Tumler and Franjo von Allmen.

Ramon Zenhäusern is no longer a member of the Swiss Ski squad. The 33-year-old from Valais, who was still in the C squad last winter, is being "returned" to the regional association by Swiss-Ski. He has not yet announced whether the Olympic team champion and slalom silver medallist at the 2018 Winter Games will continue his career.

Malorie Blanc, Lara Gut-Behrami, Wendy Holdener, Mélanie Meillard, Camille Rast and Corinne Suter remain members of the women's national team. Jasmine Flury was demoted to the A squad.

The squad selections were made by Hans Flatscher, Director of Alpine Skiing, together with the head coaches Thomas Stauffer and Beat Tschuor and the head of young talent, Werner Zurbuchen.
