Luca Murabito from Ticino ends the Universiade in the Ruhr region with a silver medal in the vault final

On the second-last day of competition at the Universiade in the Rhine-Ruhr region in Germany, Luca Murabito in artistic gymnastics and Nino Portmann in decathlon win silver and bronze.
Luca Murabito won his silver medal in the vault final. The 22-year-old from Ticino held his own against strong international competition with two clean jumps. Morabito (14.033 points), who had already won bronze with the team, was only beaten by China's Zhilong Chen (14.549). Murabito, who lives in Oftringen, is studying sports science in Magglingen.
In the decathlon, Nino Portmann took the bronze medal with 7614 points behind the Australian Benjamin Guse (7918) and the Finn Aleksi Savolainen (7619). Portmann finished the first day in third place and successfully defended this until the end. In the 1500 m race, he saved the medal with a clear personal best (4:37.70). Nino Portmann lives in Lucerne and is studying Sports Management at the Distance Learning University of Applied Sciences.
