Sommer and Akanji lose Milan derby

The so-called "Derby della Madonnina" no longer brings Inter any luck. The Nerazzurri had won 14 of their last 15 games and drawn once. Now they lost for the first time since November 23. The last time they lost was in the 12th round - 0:1 against Milan.

The only goal of the game was scored by Ecuadorian defender Pervis Estupiñan in the 35th minute. Inter had more of the play after that, but failed to score. Milan are now just seven points behind the leaders with ten rounds to go.

Goalkeeper Yann Sommer and defender Manuel Akanji played the entire game for Inter, while Ardon Jashari and Zachary Athekame watched the derby win from the substitutes' bench. Inter have not beaten their city rivals in the league and the various cup competitions since April 2024 and have now played seven games (five defeats, two draws).
