Over all 17 broadcast days, an average of 158,000 viewers from German-speaking Switzerland watched the approximately 230-hour live program on SRF zwei (market share: 31.9 percent). This was SRF's highest Olympic ratings since 2014 (171,000 in Sochi).
The day with the most viewers was Sunday, August 4, when the men's 100m final was one of the highlights of these Olympic Games. Noah Lyles' victory was watched by a peak audience of 624,000 (market share: 49.5 percent). From a Swiss perspective, the beach volleyball quarter-final match lost by Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépré against the Australian duo Mariafe Artacho/Taliqua Clancy stood out two days later (536,000).
By comparison, a good 1.8 million people watched the European Championship quarter-final between Switzerland and England.
SRF registered more than 24 million visits on its online platforms. This is a significant increase compared to the 2022 Games in Beijing (20 million), 2021 in Tokyo (17 million) and 2018 in Pyeongchang (13.3 million).
