Even at the age of 40, Raphael Diaz still hasn't had enough of top ice hockey. The defenseman extends his contract with EV Zug for another season.

Diaz is a Zug veteran. He made his debut in the first team 23 years ago and matured into an international player with the Central Swiss club. He made the leap to the NHL 15 years ago. After five seasons in North America, Diaz returned to EV Zug for the first time and led the team to Cup victory in 2019 and the Swiss championship title in 2021.
Diaz then moved on to Fribourg-Gottéron for four years before rejoining Zug for the penultimate championship. Last season was a difficult one for him. For months, the consequences of a head injury took their toll on him.
