The Swiss women were particularly disappointing on the run. Amy Baserga (25), the two-time junior world champion, who sniffed victory in the 15 km race, lost significantly more time to the best over only half the distance on the cross-country course this time.

None of the other Swiss women finished in the top 50. 65th-placed Lena Häcki-Gross, who had skipped the first race due to illness, lost 2:17.6 minutes despite just one miss.

Finland's Suvi Minkkinen achieved her first individual World Cup success at the age of 30.
