Nino Niederreiter suffered his sixth loss in the last seven games with Winnipeg. The Jets had the lead twice against the Montreal Canadiens, but only Montreal's Cole Caufield scored in the penalty shootout.

Philipp Kurashev and the San Jose Sharks suffered a crushing defeat. The Californians lost 1:7 at home to the Washington Capitals, with Ryan Leonard contributing two goals and two assists to the visitors' victory. Former star Alex Ovechkin also scored two goals.
