Ana Patricia/Duda win the final of the Olympic beach volleyball tournament. The Brazilians beat the Canadian duo Melissa Humana-Paredes/Brandie Wilkerson 26:24, 12:21, 15:10.

28 years after Sandra Pires/Jackie Silva, Patricia/Duda secured Brazil's second Olympic gold in women's beach volleyball. However, the South Americans had to work hard for it.

In the first set, the world number 1s trailed by six points at times and seemed to have a decisive lead. However, they noticeably turned up the heat, fending off two set points and converting their third set point.

The second game was then a clear affair for the Canadians. However, the Brazilians, who had only dropped one set on their way to the final, did not allow themselves to be unsettled by this interim slump. In the deciding set, they controlled the action from the outset and were never in danger of letting the game slip from their grasp. After winning the World Championship title in Rome 2022, Patricia/Duda now secured the biggest possible victory in Paris.

Humana-Paredes/Wilkerson, who lost to Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépré in the preliminary round and shattered Tanja Hüberli/Nina Brunner's gold dream in the semi-finals, will have to settle for silver. This is the first Olympic medal for Canada in women's beach volleyball.
