Andri Ragettli gets a second chance at a medal in the Big Air at the home World Championships in the Engadin on Saturday evening. The freeskier from Graubünden survives the tough qualification.
Ragettli, narrowly beaten into fourth place in the slopestyle a week ago, finished 4th in his heat. A top 5 ranking was required.
Fabian Bösch, the 2019 World Champion, was 1.25 points off the pace in sixth place. Colin Wili and Kim Gubser lacked seven and ten points respectively in their heat to qualify for the final.
This means that Switzerland will be represented by a strong duo on Saturday evening (from 19:30), even without slopestyle world champion Mathilde Gremaud. Sarah Höfflin was the best in the women's qualification on Wednesday when Gremaud was knocked out.
