  • Angelica Moser wins the bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in China.
  • She jumps 4.70 meters. She fails in her attempt to jump over 4.75 meters. Only the Frenchwoman Marie-Julie Bonnin jumps over the mark and takes gold.

4.70 meters in her first attempt was enough for Angelica Moser to win the medal. Prior to that, the 27-year-old had a number of failed attempts and even after that it didn't work out at 4.75 m. Two weeks ago at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, the pole vaulter had still won with the Swiss record height of 4.80m.

In the absence of the entire Olympic podium, 4.70 m was enough for the European champion and Olympic fourth-placer to win the medal. France's Marie-Julie Bonnin was crowned world champion, the only athlete to jump over 4.75m. Tina Sutej took silver. The Slovenian failed to clear the same height as Angelica Moser, but had fewer failed attempts overall.
