Marco Bezzecchi secures victory in the sprint race of the MotoGP class at the GP of Australia.

Marco Bezzecchi won the sprint race of the Australian GP, the 19th of 22 races in the MotoGP season, on the coastal circuit of Phillip Island on Saturday. The Aprilia rider finished ahead of the Spaniards Raul Fernandez (Aprilia-Trackhouse) and Pedro Acosta (KTM).
Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, who started from pole position for the fifth time this season, crossed the finish line in seventh place on his Yamaha. The Ducatis, who have dominated this season, were left behind as the best of them, Italian Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati-VR46), finished fifth ahead of Spaniard Alex Marquez (Ducati-Gresini) in sixth place.
Spaniard Marc Marquez (Ducati) - who has already secured the title in the premier class - and his compatriot, 2024 World Champion Jorge Martin (Aprilia), were injured and did not travel to Australia.
