HC Lugano is reacting to its sporting slump by bringing Antti Törmänen on board. The 54-year-old Finn will become technical advisor to the first team and the youth department.

Törmänen will initially contribute his expertise to the Ticino club until the end of the season. The contract between the former SC Bern champion coach and the second-to-last team in the National League runs until then.

Due to his cancer, Törmänen had to end his tenure as head coach of EHC Biel in May 2023.
