The Swiss biathletes miss out on a top result in the sprint at the World Cup in Nove Mesto. Amy Baserga (18th) and Aita Gasparin (20th) just make it into the top 20.
In a competition with an extremely high level of shooting, Amy Baserga missed out on a top 8 place with a mistake in the standing position. Aita Gasparin remained clear, but lost too much time on the cross-country ski run.
Lena Häcki-Gross, who like Baserga was unable to benefit from a low starting number in the high temperatures and deep tracks in the Czech Republic, had to go into the penalty loop twice and missed out on World Cup points in 42nd place. This means that the starting position for the pursuit on Saturday is also not very promising.
Elisa Gasparin and Susanna Meinen did not qualify for the pursuit of the top 60.
Ingrid Tandrevold celebrated an emotional victory in the first World Cup after the World Championships in Switzerland. In Lenzerheide, she was still one of the tragic figures when she robbed the Norwegian mixed relay team of an almost certain medal with a total of eight misses and was viciously abused on social media afterwards. This time she remained flawless and prevented a French triple victory.
