Great Britain's swimming star Adam Peaty has tested positive for coronavirus. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to compete again in Paris.
Peaty had already felt unwell on Sunday before his 2nd place in the Olympic 100 m breaststroke race, the British team announced. The symptoms became more severe in the hours after the race, and the 29-year-old then tested positive on Monday.
It is hoped that Peaty will still be able to swim in the further course of the Games in Paris, the statement continued. Peaty has already won three gold medals at the Olympic Games since 2016.
