A draw would have been enough to advance to the round of 16. The cadets got off to a good start: They took a 4:1 lead in the 6th minute. They were ahead for the last time at 10:9 (19th minute). In the 40th minute, Schaffhausen fell behind by two goals for the first time at 17:19, after which they were always behind. The deficit was 27:30 with just over three minutes to go, and the deficit was too heavy. After closing the gap to 29:30, the Kadetten did not regain possession until four seconds before the end.

Schaffhausen lost, despite recording more saves (13:10). Moreno Car impressed with twelve shots saved. In attack, Odin Rikhardsson (8 goals) and Ariel Pietrasik (7) were responsible for more than half of the hosts' goals. The Kadetten had won the first leg 32:30 away from home, which makes the elimination all the more disappointing.
