The Carolina Hurricanes come back from 2-0 down in the second game of the playoff quarter-final against the Philadelphia Flyers. Thanks in part to Nikolaj Ehlers, the home team wins 3:2 and takes a 2:0 lead in the series.

After conceding two goals in the fifth minute, Ehlers, who grew up in Switzerland, reduced the deficit to 1:2. The former EHC Biel junior provided the assist on the equalizer in the 52nd minute. The Eastern Conference qualification winners thus saved themselves into overtime, in which Canadian Taylor Hall provided the decider.

The team from the US state of North Carolina thus remains unbeaten in this year's playoffs and has a cushion for the next two away games.

In the second game of the evening, the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Anaheim Ducks 3:1 at home in the first game of the series. Swiss goalie Akira Schmid was once again not in the home team's line-up.
