Elise Chabbey has had to abandon the Giro d'Italia before the seventh stage on Saturday.
The 31-year-old from Geneva suffered a scaphoid fracture in a crash the day before, as her team Canyon/SRAM Racing announced. However, her participation in the Olympic Games in Paris is not at risk.
