The Chicago Bears have won their first NFL playoff game in 15 years, prevailing in a thrilling duel with the Green Bay Packers.
The hosts turned the game around after trailing 31:27 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The Bears last took part in the play-off five years ago, and their last victory was even longer ago.
Chicago still trailed 6:21 at the start of the final quarter. A missed extra point and a missed field goal by the Packers gave the Bears and quarterback Caleb Williams further hope. He gained 361 yards and threw two touchdown passes. His two interceptions no longer played a role in the end.
The Los Angeles Rams also progressed after a 34:31 win against the Carolina Panthers. The favored Californians struggled unexpectedly. A touchdown with 38 seconds remaining secured Los Angeles' progress after the Panthers had taken the lead twice in the final quarter. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed three touchdown passes and gained 304 yards.
