For the past three years, Weber has worked as head of sports for EHC Winterthur, which is withdrawing from the Swiss League at the end of this championship.

Weber is a native of Dübendorf and made his debut as a player with the EHC in the NLB at the age of 15. This was followed by 607 NLA games with various clubs (two championship titles each with Davos and the ZSC) and 102 appearances with the national team. The now 61-year-old can also look back on a long and successful career as a coach. He has already gained experience in the MHL, the third-highest Swiss league. Weber led EHC Basel to the MHL championship title in 2022 and into the Swiss League.
