The Swiss national floorball team shows the required reaction after the historic quarter-final exit at the World Championships in Malmö. Johan Schönbeck's team defeated Norway 6:0 in the first classification game.
Less than 24 hours after the huge disappointment of missing out on the World Championship semi-finals for the first time in almost 30 years, the Swiss completed their compulsory task with the necessary commitment. After goals from Noah Siegenthaler, Claudio Mutter and Patrick Mendelin, they led 3:0 at the first break.
The victory against the Norwegians, against whom they had only managed a 4-4 draw in their last group game, was never in danger after that. Shortly before the end, veteran Mendelin scored twice to make it 6-0. Yanick Flury celebrated a shutout in front of the Swiss goal.
The Swiss will now face the winner of the duel between Slovakia and Germany in the match for fifth place on Sunday (from 12.30 p.m.).
