Robin Cuche is in 2nd place in the giant slalom after the 1st run. In addition to him, three other Swiss athletes qualified for the 2nd run in the standing category.
Robin Cuche is on course for the podium in the standing category of the giant slalom after the first run. The speed specialist, who has already won gold in the downhill and super-G, was only beaten by Arthur Bauchet in the first run. The Frenchman leads by 0.29 seconds. Alexei Bugayev is in 3rd place. The Russian is 1.64 seconds behind Bauchet.
Théo Gmür, who skipped the Alpine Combined to prepare for the Giant Slalom, is in 7th place. Emerick Sierro (12th) and Ueli Rotach (28th) will also start the second run at 13.00.
In the monoskibob, the bumpy track proved to be a stumbling block for many athletes - even for favorites such as Dutchman Jeroen Kampschreur. 15 of the 37 racers were eliminated. The two Swiss riders Pascal Christen (9th) and Christophe Damas (16th) finished their runs and will therefore compete in the second race.
