Johannes Hösflot Klaebo is the world champion in the 10 km classic with individual start. Cyril Fähndrich impresses with 7th place in his most important race at the championships in Trondheim.
Nadine Fähndrich's brother put in a strong performance. The Lucerne native divided up the race very well, did not slow down and was only 35 seconds behind Klaebo at the end, who won gold for the third time at his home World Championships.
Fähndrich's performance came without announcement. A 20th place as his best result this winter and a failed skiathlon in Trondheim had not pointed to a top ten result.
Fähndrich never came close to the top 6, but he was the best Central European. With start number 32, he sat on the leader's throne for a while before the top skiers went one better. The Norwegians took a triple victory in the snowfall with Klaebo, Erik Valnes and Harald Östberg Amundsen.
Beda Klee, whose season resembles a constant up and down, had a weak day and failed to make it into the top 30.
