Filip Zadina scored the game-winner (3:1) and added two assists in the victory over Biel. His Czech compatriot Matej Stransky had put Davos ahead after just eight minutes. Chris Egli made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute and Davos celebrated their third win in the last four rounds.
Biel fought with great heart, but were not rewarded. Jérôme Bachofner outnumbered (33) and the Russian defender Alexander Jakowenko reduced the deficit twice.
Davos scored the 1:0 in overtime. EHC Biel was able to play powerplay six times, once even against only three Davos players and after a five-minute penalty against Michael Fora for a longer period of time, but could not get anything done.
EHC Biel are still three points behind the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers outside the play-in places.
