Thanks to Fiala, the Kings had their third win in a row in sight. The St. Gallen forward put his team 2:1 ahead on the power play just over five minutes before the end of the third period. Fiala scored his eleventh goal of the current championship, making him once again the most prolific Swiss scorer together with Timo Meier of the New Jersey Devils.

The new victory began to slip away from the Kings 26 seconds before the end of regulation. The American Matty Beniers equalized for the Kraken, also in overtime. The decision in overtime was made by Canadian Vince Dunn after 81 seconds, giving the Kraken their first win after six defeats.
